Legal advice for elderly clients

Legal Issues that affect older and vulnerable people, their families and carers are expanding with new laws and regulations constantly evolving and becoming more complex.  Decisions taken without advice may have unintended results, and it is important to have early specialist legal advice to prevent or mitigate problems.

John Young is a  member of “Solicitors for the Elderly” (SFA) which is a National Association of Lawyers who are concerned with improving the availability and delivery of specialist legal advice to older and vulnerable people and their families.  We can give you help and advice with the following:-

  • Estate and Tax Planning using Wills, Trusts and Lifetime giving
  • Powers of Attorney and Court of Protection work
  • Probate and Administration of Estates
  • Home Equity Release Plans
  • Preserving Assets in the event of Long Term Residential and Nursing Care and
  • Care Home Contracts
  • Information on Home Care
  • NHS Funded Care
  • Advice on Financial Responsibility and Funding Criteria for long term care
  • Advance Medical Decisions
  • Elder Abuse

For those clients who are unable to attend our offices, we can arrange a home, hospital or care-home visit by appointment.
